INTRODUCTION
Hello my name is Kai Sleath and I go to Canadian Academy in Japan.In our school we have started an exhibition project. For my exhibition project I picked skateboarding.
The exhibition starts on the April 26th of 2013. My lines of inquiry are:

What trick am I going to try to master?
The trick I`m going to try to master is the kick flip.
What is a kick flip?
The Kick flip is the hardest of the basic skateboarding tricks, and one of the most popular skateboarding tricks to learn.
A Kickflip starts with an Ollie, but you flick the board with your foot to make it spin underneath you while in the air. In a clean kickflip, the skater kicks the board with the top and side of his or her front foot, the skateboard flips and spins over at least once, and the skateboarder lands on the skateboard comfortably, wheels down, and rides away.(http://skateboard.about.com/od/tricktips/ss/HowToKickflip.htm)
Method
I`m going to record my progress in mastering the skateboard by:
1. video taping- I`m going to video tape myself trying to kick flip once a week.
2. Diary- I`m going to write about what what I`v improved, my bad points and good points. I will include: weather, location, time skated, and some extra comments.
Kick flip diary entry#1
Today I skated for 30mins downstairs and the weather was very cloudy. And it was very windy too. My kick flip flipped but my feet didn't land on the right place. My problem was today that I had my foot on the edge of my board and I fell. That happened many times today. I changed a lot because my board was all over before but now it was on my foot in the wrong place. My best moment today was landing with my front foot because that was my first time doing a kick flip with my front foot. This diary was from the march 22 of 2013.

Today I went outside and skated. I was practicing my kick flip. Today my kick flip went on the perfect direction because the board didn't go all around and I haven`t put my board down. I can flip the board and land it with only one foot. I think I am scared to put my both foot on the board.I think I improved because my flips are good and it doesn't go all around. I think my little problem was I can't land with my two foot. I can only land with back foot and it is really hard to land with both foot.

Today I worked very hard on the kick flip and it went really well because every time I kick flip it goes many places. But today my kick flip was great because my board didn't go away from me but I changed a lot because before I had my board all over and also my board doesn't flip well. Today I had one problem that the board always do not flip right. And the easy thing about the kick flip is that you can flip the board easily but not on the right place. I think today was better than other kick flip because other times I kick flip the board magically flies all over the place. Today I practiced lot longer than before. Sometimes my board flips right and sometimes wrong places. I took a video and my flips went okay because when I flipped the board the board doesn't flip properly maybe because I don't flip the board hard enough. And sometimes the video shows that my board flips well because that time I flip my board harder and stronger. I hope I can land a kick flip before the exhibition.
Today I used my PYP Exhibition notebook to learn how to kick flip. I also researched about history of skateboarding. Today my kick flip was better because I noticed that I didn't flip the board harder. I practiced my kick flip at my house. I had practiced for 15mins. I had one problem that I can't flip the board with 2 feet maybe because I haven't lift my board high enough. I should improve by flipping the board higher. The weather was fine and it was 6:30 till 6:45. I think I should improve by taking the video and practice it every time. And use the notes and tick the things that you can do and what you can not do.

Today I went outside for 15mins and I practiced my kick flip. My kick flip went great because they spun cleanly and they were also not all over the place which means my board never went away. My problem was today that my foot didn't land on the right place. I had my foot on the tail and I banged my head and I got a little hurt. By the way today's weather is cloudy and sunny which means it can rain. I think I should improve my landing because I have my foot on the tail and like I said I banged my head. So I should improve on my kick flip and film me doing a kick flip many times and edit the film.

Today I went out and skated I also brought my laptop to film my kick flip and it was not the best day because my kick flip went all sudden bad maybe because I didn't practice enough or maybe because I am keep on doing the same thing when I'm not supposed to do. But the good thing was I had my flips good but landed them to quick which is not good at all. By the way today's weather is cloudy because I skated at the morning and it was cloudy. It took me 25mins to edit the movie and it was very hard to drag the movie on the imovie so I asked for help and they helped me and I was very happy that they helped me. Anyway my pop is always good as you can see in the movie but i think I need some extra work on my flips and landing. I hope I would just land it at least once.
Conclusion
For the 3 weeks I couldn't land my kick flip maybe because I haven't practiced enough or I haven't thought I could improve or didn't read the rules about the kick flip.
What have I learned from the last 3 weeks? I have learned that I should read the rules a bit carefully or I think I should have practiced a bit more to get the kick flip.
Why do I think I need 6 months for practice? Well I think I need 6 months because 3 weeks doesn't help for doing a kick flip but 6 months can help me improve more.
The good thing in the 3 weeks was flipping the board and landing them with one foot. My worse thing I have done on the 3 weeks was getting hurt when I was trying to land them with two feet. Maybe I could have improved by someone teaching me kick flip for 1 hour and get the rules inside my head. i think that would be better.
